Combined Divination: Tarot and Numerology

Each card in the tarot deck has a numerological significance. For instance, in the Major Arcana cards, all of them are numbered (except for The Fool, which is tagged with a zero). For the Minor Arcana, on the other hand, the numbers on each pip card represents it numerological scheme.

The combination of tarot and numerology can lead to a deeper understanding and interpretation of a person’s specific spread. For cards that are numbered with double-digits, it can be broken down into single digits by adding them together.

Hence, aside from the usual meanings of each tarot card, the reader can also interpret it based on the number’s attribute. Below are some common interpretations of the number zero to nine:

0 – The number representing beginnings. In the tarot, The Fool is said to represent the querant or the beginning of the journey

1 – Also associated with beginning, it can also mean individuality.

2 – Number representing relationships, coupling or duality.

4 – The number that represent manifestation and materiality.

5 – Number related to the senses and represents the human form. As the mid-point between zero and ten, it can represent instability.

6 – It connotes harmony, cooperation and equilibrium

7 – Also called the spiritual number

8 – It is generally known as the number of power and manifestation

9 – Represents the completion of a cycle.
