In addition to angles, aspects and nodes in Astrology, there are also terms used to define placements in the sky. The following are some astrological sign positions that you should be familiar with to interpret your chart:

Aphetic places – parts of the horoscope ranging from 5 degrees above the Ascendant to 25 degree below it, from 5 degrees below the descendant to 25 degrees above and from 4 degrees preceding the ninth house cusp to the middle of the eleventh house. Also called hylegiacal places.
Conjunction – formed when two planets occupy a close position in the zodiac, usually within an 8 degree orb.
Aphelion – The point in a planet’s orbit when it is farthest from the sun.
Perihelion – the point in the planet’s orbit when it is closest to the sun.
Apogee - The point in a planet’s orbit when it is farthest from Earth
Perigee - The point in a planet’s orbit when it is closest to Earth
Contraparallel – when two planets occupy the same degree and are in opposite direction of declination, contraparallel is the angle between them.
Equinox – occurs when the center of the sun is directly over the Earth’s equator. There are two types: vernal equinox in sprin and autumnal equinox on the first day of autumn. The days and nights are of equal duration.
