Astrological Ages
Astrology defines several time periods that coincide with major changes on Earth relating to culture, society and politics. These are called astrological ages. They follow the twelve zodiac signs in astrology, and at the completion of once cycle, it repeats itself. These occur because of the precession of the equinoxes. For once cycle to complete, it would take approximately 26,000 years.
Most astrologers do not agree upon the dates when these particular ages end or begin. There are several theories as to the calculation of how many years an age spans. Below are the general thoughts on astrological ages:
The Age of Leo – Happened between 10,500 to 8,000 BC. Global warming and the deglaciation are major events that mark this era.
The Age of Cancer – According to the Heindel-Rosicrucian interpretation, it began about 8126 and ended in 5970 BC, it is said to be around the Neolithic revolution, where civilisation began as did the domestication of farm animals.
The Age of Gemini – began around 5970 BC and ended in 3814 BC, it ushered in the age of communication and trade.
The Age of Taurus – from 3814 BC to 1658 BC, the age is notable for agriculture and building. It is said that they pyramids and the Old Kingdom and the Middle Kingdom of Egypt were built during this time.
Age of Aries – Began in 1658 BC and ended in AD 498, this marked the expansion of nations. Values such as initiative, war and adventure are the most prominent during this astrological age.
The Age of Pisces – the current age until 600 years from now. This is the age of spirituality which is marked by the rise of many religions such as Christianity, Islam and Buddhism.
The Age of Aquarius – Estimated to start around year 2600, it is expected to usher in a period of group consciousness which will lead to freedom and technology.
