Tarot cards are considered very old and useful as these have already been widely used since time immemorial especially as a tool for divination.
Throughout time, its use has evolved and it has become a way of predicting or telling what the future has in store for every individual. And though there are still many who are skeptical about the “powers” of the tarot, there are still more who do not undermine what it can do for them.
Since tarot reading has been around for a long time, there are already quite a number of tarot decks that have been used. Some of these decks have extremely beautiful designs and are called novelty decks. However, the effect or result of the actual reading is really not influenced by the tarot deck.
Here is a list of the most famous ones.
1. Medieval Scapini Tarot
Aside from its renaissance touch to it, it is also prettier than the usual and popular Marseilles tarot deck. The Medieval Scapini is also better since the Marseilles tarot is more similar to the usual gaming cards. It also has an authentic Italian Tarocchi feel.
2. The Druidcraft Tarot
The Druidcraft Tarot is considered to be best among the Pagan inspired tarot decks. To describe this deck briefly is to say that this is simply stunning.
3. The Llewellyn Tarot
These are beautiful cards, as what is reflected in its name. This deck is symbolic to the tarot but still maintains its pagan ideals. It is very careful not to lose the original feel of any single one of the cards.
4. The Sacred Circle Tarot
This is also known as the Celtic Pagan Journey. This tarot deck is known to have come from a long line of Irish-Celtic Herb Craft and Psychic women. A psychic himself describes it as artistically stunning. However, it is advised that beginners should not use this deck. But it can always be a beautiful addition to a collection of tarot decks.
5. The Deviant Moon Tarot
The Deviant Moon Tarot is considered as a “really cool tarot deck”. The deck has unique images and is cool-looking. But even though these designs are cool, these are still easy to read by any tarot card reader regardless of experience and level of expertise.
6. The Rider-Waite Tarot Deck
This particular tarot deck was illustrated by Pamela Coleman-Smith and published in 1909. The artist was being instructed by Arthur Edward Waite who was a known mystic and scholar. This deck is highly recommended for tarot card readers who are only beginning and getting themselves acquainted with the tarot decks.
The type of tarot cards used for a tarot reading, as mentioned above, does not really affect the results of the reading. What is deemed important is that the reader can clearly understand the imagery on each of the cards of the deck. This should also be combined with the faith of both the seeker and the reader.
