Aboriginal Elder Follows Gut Feeling, Finds Body Part
In her search for missing Keisha Abrahams, an aboriginal elder followed her “gut feeling” and found an adult torso.
It was on a creek bank at Nurragingy Reserve where Cheryl Carroll-Lagerway found the body part. This is situated in the suburb of Doonside on Wednesday night. According to Lagerway, she has some psychic powers and that she was expecting she would find the missing Keisha.
Instead of finding Keisha, an adult torso was what she found which is also believed to be the body of a mother, Kristi McDougall, who went missing about 2 months ago. McDougall is the mother of a two-year-old boy and was last seen in Homebush. According to her friends, she said she was on her way to Ermington in the west side of the city. But she never returned.
“I’ve had a feeling to go there all time. It’s just my feeling … so I went with my gut feeling”, said Lagerway to newsmen.
Though the identity of the torso is yet to be confirmed, police have already contacted the family of McDougall to warn them about the discovery.
Though the discovery of the torso is a positive thing, police are still going to investigate the circumstances as to how Lagerway was led to finding the torso. This is according to Pamela Young, Detective Chief Inspector of the State Crime Command Homicide Squad.
“Well, it’s quite interesting that there’s a woman and she had a sense or feeling it was worth her while to come to this particular part of the park. We’re still exploring that — it’s certainly an interesting proposition of hers,” said Inspector Young.
