New Psychic Movie Slated for Release
The oddly titled movie The Men Who Stare at Goats has just released its trailer. The movie is actually a dark comic tale about psychic warfare of the US military.
The movie will star George Clooney, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges and Kevin Spacey. Reporter Bob Wilton, played by McGregor, is in search of the next big story when he stumbles across a shadowy figure said to be part of an experimental military team. Clooney plays First Earth Battalion unit member Lyn Cassady, who changes the way wars are fought with paranormal activities. He says he belongs to a legion of “Warrior Monks” with psychic powers such as reading telepathy, telekenisis and killing a goat just by staring at it.
The movie is based on a 2004 book of the same title by Jon Ronson. The film is due to premier in the upcoming Venice film festival. The movie will be directed by Grant Heslov. Other actors include Robert Patrick, Stephen Lang, Stephen Root, Rebecca Mader and Glen Morshower. It is slated to debut on the big screen on November 6, 2009
