Paranormal Group Fights for Florida Inn
The Seven Sisters Inn is in foreclosure, but psychic and ghost hunters are fighting to keep it open. The Ocala, Florida Inn is set to go on auction on April 7, 2009. Owners Bonnie Morehardt and Ken Oden were planning to put the business up for sale to go back to flying airplanes.
However, luck seems to be on the wrong side for the sellers. Some odd things have happened every time they are nearing the close of a sale. One of the potential buyers passed away before a deal was made. Another time, it was the agent who died. In January 2008, potential buyers failed making mortgage payments for a contract.
The property is selling for under $1.3 million, which includes two houses and everything in them. The property is filled with artifacts that the couple has collected over the years on their travels around the world. The inn is listed under the National Register of Historic Places. The property continues to get bookings, and is actually booked through October 2009.
According to real estate agent Jane Nolan of ABS Property Management, the couple wants to find a buyer who would keep running the place as an inn. Petitions are being lodged to extend the deadline for the foreclosure. The owners are confident that if the deadline is extended, they will be able to raise enough money to payback the defaults or to find a new buyer. Meanwhile, the inn continues to operate taking in bookings for overnight stay and murder mystery dinners.
