Psychic Fair Held in Peterborough
This year’s Peterborough Psychic Fair returned to Rock Haven Motel and Convention Centre. It happened over the weekend, it featured the usual psychic fare of palm readers, tarot card readers and handwriting analysts.
The psychic fair in Rock Haven has been held since 1978. “Interest in psychic phenomena is probably the largest spiritual ideology in the world,” said organizer Jim Conrad. “People just want some insight into what’s going on around them.”
Conrad adds that with the recession, most people are inclined to ask about their financial situation. Another popular topic is getting in touch with people who recently died. “All they want to know is if their loved one’s all right,” he said.
As a caveat, he adds: “Do not ask the psychic to plan your life, because they’re not qualified for that. See a psychiatrist, please.”
The psychic fair featured six psychics, a healer and a graphologist. Admission to the event was $3 and readings cost between $20 to $50. The fair opened from 11am to 9pm. In addition to psychic readings, lectures on karmic DNA, clairvoyance, ghosts and past lives were also held.
