Psychic Play to Open in Broadway
Noel Coward’s 1941 comedy Blithe Spirit will officially open Sunday, March 15 at the Shubert Theatre on West 44th Street. It already began preview performances last Thursday, February 26.
The revival will star Anglea Lansbury who plays medium Madame Arcati. Other cast members include Rupert Everett, Christine Ebersole, Jayne Atkinson, Simon Jones and Deborah Rush.
The story revolves around Charles who is researching for his new novel. He engages the services of Madame Arcati, a spiritual medium, to communicate with the dead. A psychic consultant has also been hired as part of the creative team. Several New York psychics were auditioned for the job. The psychic hired was asked to channel the late playwright’s spirit to get his take on the casting and the production.
