Sony Wool the Psychic Sheep Predicted Rugby Winner
Sonny Wool, a three-year-old psychic sheep from New Zealand, made a prediction that team All Blacks will beat Tonga. This was during the first game of the Rugby world Championship. And as it turned out, the psychic sheep was correct after All Blacks beat Tonga with a 41-10 score.
Dan Boyd, owner and agent of Sonny Wool, put two boxes of hay each in front of two flags representing the two competing teams. The psychic sheep went over to the box of hay that had the New Zealand flag instead of the one with Tonga’s flag.
“It sniffed around Tonga and then it walked to New Zealand, with a bit of coaxing from the crowd. It would have been in the oven if it chose Tonga, so it chose wisely,” said an onlooker.
It can be noted that the All Blacks had already won three previous games. Even if Boyd is a fan of the winning team, he insists that there was no bias with how the choosing was done. Boyd also made sure that it was done fairly so he put the same food on either box.
“The next game is against Japan [on Sept. 16], and if he picks Japan then they will be the team to win,” said Boyd.
Some of the first tries of Sonny at being a psychic were related to the rain. Its accuracy inspired Boyd to shift the category to sports and see if sonny would also be accurate.
