Stewart Alexander Publishes Memoirs
Stewart Alexander, a world-renowned physical medium, publishes his memoirs. The spiritualist book contains troves of anecdotes and thought-provoking views.
The book can be said to contain very substantive views on various topics on spiritualism and psychic readings as Alexander has been connected to spiritualism for 40 years and then went on to work as a physical medium. What is also important to note is that the book is not only giving an “armchair observer’s” view but rather an actual medium’s point of view.
The book has been divided into two parts. The first is about Alexander’s excursion through spirituality. The author gives an account of how he developed his mediumship and how he met his first mentor, Kath Matthews. The second part talks about “observations and deductions” where he dissects the problems of the movement today.
“For a time the Movement appeared to be firmly on course to achieve its aims, and yet, following the passing through Parliament of the Fraudulent Mediums Act in 1951, it all started to go wrong. Instead of capitalizing upon its hard fought victory for legalization, it turned in upon itself and went into decline. The fighting spirit which saw its leadership, together with its rank and file, present a united front in the face of legal injustice slowly became a memory. The Movement’s central message became fragmented, diluted and corrupted, with the result that gradually it lost direction.”
The book, “Stewart Alexander’s An Extraordinary Journey”, provides the best account of how a medium or psychic sees spirituality. For anyone who is interested in spirituality, this is the best book to read. It is enjoyable and straight forward. It should be the latest addition to the spiritualist’s collection of books.
