The Hindu ‘Nadi’ astrology or palm leaf reading

From the recent report regarding the astrology stated that the University of Malaya (UM) study that has been released recently showed of 300 urban Malaysian Indians who regularly seek advice from astrologers exposed that at least half of them were resentful under the appearance of spiritual remedies.

“The rest said fortune telling was good because consulting (soothsayers) gave guidance to shape their lives,” said by the UM’s Indian Studies Department senior lecturer Dr G. Sivabalan told Bernama.

From the World Classical Tamil Conference in Coimbatore, Sivabalan added and claimed that the 2008-2009 study was in particular paying attention on the well-known Hindu ‘Nadi’ astrology or palm leaf reading. This according to him is the ability to foresee and predict the future and even the past by just reading and looking at the ancient text written on a leaf. In recent studies that has been carried out by the universities in order to learn more about the Johor, Klang Valley and Perak and to look into the effects of astrology, and exposed that every one of the person on average, spent nearly RM1,000, to know the future.

In accordance to the report the UM is now scheduling to set up a Tamil document palm leaf study centre, with the connection of Malaysian Tamil Writers Association, where they would gather palm leaves found in Malaysia since the 1890s.
