Well-known Spirit Medium Dies at 83
Well-known spirit medium Philip Saunders has passed away at the age of 83 in New Cross Hospital yesterday. The former army staff sergeant is more familiar to people by his middle name Howard.
Saunders is a former member and officer of the Darlaston Spiritualist Church. Aside from stripes earned as a medium, he is also honored for his contributions as a soldier. Saunders joined World War II at the age of 16.
After the war, he became greatly interested in the spiritual world. He has helped may people and churches as a spiritual medium. His late wife Elsie was also a highly acclaimed medium and was president of Darlaston Spiritualist Church. They bore a son, who is also a psychic, Philip Solomon.
Saunders is survived by his 20-year partner Piari, his son Philip and daughter-in-law Kath, grandchildren Nadine and Paul and great grandchildren Liam and Elise.
