Will Smith Goes SciFi
The two-hour pilot for Unfinished Business has been picked up by the NBC Universal’s Sci Fi Channel. The crime drama is from Overbook Entertainment, a company owned by James Lassiter, Will Smith and Ken Stovitz.
The series produced by Will Smith is about a paranormal cop who can see the memories of dead people after a brain injury. His flashes compel him to help the wronged souls complete their unfinished business. It is written by Sally Robinson, the writer behind Iron Jawed Angels. The pilot will be directed by Mikael Salomon of Band of Brothers, The Andromeda Strain and The Company.
The network, which changes its name to Syfy on July 7, plans to air Unfinished Business as a two-hour movie that will also serve as a potential series pilot.
